Canadian Tire Corporation is one of the largest Canadian owned companies in Canada. It is a publicly owned company. This company is a local company therefore it is not involved in international market. As it is a local company, it has local customer to whom the company focus most of their products. This corporation is involved in retail, finance and service sectors that helps Canadian achieve there in their day-to- day operation. It is a centralized business therefore most of its governance decision are made by board of directors. A s a company who focus on Canadian citizen, they have develop programs and system to improve Canadian life through there active living programs and save the environment through their environmental policy. As the corporation has a line and staff organizational structure it is able to carefully monitor and motivate each committee to finish their mandate. Both of the company’s strategic as well as the operational planning is nicely implement in the corporation, while the board of directors are also able to monitor their control mechanism. The overall structure of the company is very good. The only problem that the customer are concern about the company is the customer service area. As Canada is a diverse country, the company now has to change its product to focus more on the new diverse society rather than focusing on older Canadian culture.

As one of the top retail store in Canada, Canadian Tire corporation, limited was originally started as Hamilton Garage & Rubber Co. in 1922. They incorporated with the existing name under Ontario Companies Act Dec 1, 1927.Since then it operates 1700 retail outlets, gas bars and range of financial services (Canadian Tire corp., 2014). Their products and services prepare Canadian for every day-to-day operation. Canadian Tire Corporation is powered by its six business, which had helped the corporation to be one of the nation’s most top and trusted business. They are: Canadian Tire: It is the flagship banner for the corporation. There are 491 Canadian Tire stores run by third party operators (Canadian Tire corp., n.d.), known as dealers, who purchases merchandise on living, automotive, fixing, playing and others from the corporation and sell it to local customers. Its head office is located with the corporation. Petroleum: It is Canadian largest independent retailer of gasoline with 300 retailer operated gas bars, 295 conveniences store, 82 carwashes and 89 propane station which are mostly collocated with the Canadian Tire stores (Canadian Tire corp., 2014). The head office is located with the Canadian Tire Corporation. Partsource : It is the chain of automotive speciality store that consist of 90 chains that are conveniently located, with competitive pricing and experts professional employee. They have unique strategies from expert catering to “do-it-yourself” which attracts many customers. They also have value added features like loan-a-tool program, brake drum and router turning, which add up for their unique business strategies (Canadian Tire Corp., 2014).
