Gamuda is a construction company which was incorporated on 6 October 1976 and is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. On 10 August 1992, Gamuda was listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia. It has grown from a construction-based company to become Malaysia’s leading innovative infrastructure developer. Gamuda is a leader in turnkey and Build-Operate-Transfer (B.O.T.) civil engineering infrastructure and township development, with projects and investments in South East and Far East Asia, Indochina, South Asia and the Middle East. Gamuda Bhd and MMC Corp Bhd have entered into a shareholders agreement to regulate their rights and liabilities as shareholders of a company that will act as the project delivery partner for the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project. Both companies told Bursa Malaysia tha pursuant to the letter award issued by Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd on Jan 28, the company that would undertake the MRT project would be equally owned by MMC and Gamuda. The core businesses range of Gamuda are engineering & construction, infrastructure concessions and also property development. The scope of expertise covers highways and expressways, bridges, tunnels, dams and hydropower, hydraulic engineering and water treatment, railways and mass-rapid transit systems, marine works and ports, and building, which are delivered through general contracting, design & build, turn-key, as well as Build–Operate–Transfer methods. Construction is the primary business activities of Gamuda. Gamuda have undertaken more than 40 major sized civil engineering projects and achieved it as they help to build Malaysia to its status of world class infrastructure. The company focused on further enlarging their scope in international infrastructure construction such as in India, Taiwan, Laos, Qatar and Bahrain. Several business units provide the following services to enable the cost effective and reliable operational support to Gamuda's projects: Construction equipment & plant supply and maintenance

Asphaltic pre-mix and ready-mixed-concrete production and supply Quarrying operations and aggregates production
Pre-cast concrete products production
Road pavement laying and maintenance
Realising world class infrastructure quickly and efficiently is important to enabling the growth and competitiveness of cities in the region. In this regard, Gamuda has been instrumental in leading the development of a range of privatized infrastructure projects worth US$3billion ranging from urban highways and flood mitigation to water treatment and hydropower.

Through its relevant associates, Gamuda either owns or maintains 230 km of urban and inter-city highways in Malaysia and India. In Malaysia, Gamuda, through the respective concession companies, operates 30 year or longer, concessions for the Shah Alam Expressway (SAE), Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) as well as the Western Kuala Lumpur Traffic Dispersal Scheme (SPRINT), which are urban toll roads in the heart of the Klang Valley’s most dynamic economic corridor. For the SMART tunnel in Kuala Lumpur, the group has a 40 year concession to operate and maintain the highway and storm-water tunnel for the Malaysian Government. In India, Gamuda maintains 130km of highways in West Bengal under a 15 year finance, construct and maintain annuity payment concession with the National Highway Authority of India. Water supply.
