BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The feasibility study came up when several employees of Jades Cargo Services, Inc. – Nepa Branch wanted to establish a cooperative since the current problems of the employees are as follows: 1. That the current workplace has no near access to any small carinderia/ restaurant. 2. That in certain cases, the employees cannot immediately borrow from the company in case of emergency situations. 3. The company has a certain limit that employees can borrow and as a result, the employees resort to borrow from loan sharks or loan from SSS or HDMF and such loan process could take days or even weeks to approve. Thus, with such problems faced by the employees, it was decided that a cooperative be formed for their benefit. The proposed cooperative is said to enter into 2 business ventures: 1. Canteen/ Catering operation 2. Credit Cooperative. The said cooperative will be housed beside Jades Cargo Services, Inc. – Nepa Branch. If the cooperative will be successful, the operations shall branch out to the different branches of Jades Cargo Services, Inc., particularly in Visayas and Mindanao.
